Arctic Winter Games

The 2023 Arctic Winter Games will be hosted in Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo Region between January 29- February 4, 2023!

Arctic Winter Games Selection Events

Athletes residing north of the 55th parallel are invited to try out for the ski and snowshoe biathlon teams.
In both disciplines, athletes compete in either the birth year category of 2004-2007 (these athletes compete under the Sr Girl & Boy range protocols) or birth year category of 2007 and later (these athletes compete under the Dev 2 range protocols).
The snowshoe biathlon selection event is on Saturday December 10th at the Wapiti Nordic Biathlon Stadium in Grande Prairie.  The ski biathlon selection event is on Saturday December 17th and Sunday December 18th at Calforex #2 in Canmore.
All interested athletes must inform the Team Alberta North biathlon sport coordinator of the intention to participate one week prior to their selection event by emailing Michael Morgan at wapitibiathlon@gmail.com.

 

 

The 2024 Arctic Winter Games will be hosted in  Mat-Su Borough, Alaska, March 10 – 16, 2024.

The 2020 Arctic Winter Games, officially known with the slogan “Bring It North!”, is a winter multi-sport event will take place in Whitehorse, Yukon, between 15–21 March 2020.

The 2018 Arctic Winter Games will be held in the South Slave area of NWT.

The 2016 Arctic Winter Games were held in Nuuk, Greenland, March 6-11, 2016.
