Biathlon Alberta has been awarded every kid can play funding from the government of Alberta ministry of Tourism and Sport
This two-year funding is valued at $195,000 and will support key initiatives that include:
- Improving access to recreational, community-based programming
- Developing coach and officials capacity
- Increasing accessibility for underserved populations (girls in sport, para athletes, rural participants, & indigenous youth)
“We are extremely excited and grateful to be approved for Every Kid Can Play Funding. This will directly improve accessibility to community-based recreational programming across the province, and make our sport more approachable for populations that have been historically underserved. With feedback from member clubs, and lessons-learned from the 2025/26 Biathlon Canada Community Sport for All Initiative, we are excited to collaborate with our member clubs to deliver expanded and new program offerings this coming season.” Macx Davies – President Biathlon Alberta.
Biathlon Alberta will be reaching out to member clubs and other stakeholders by Mid-September to solicit any questions/comments/feedback/opportunities for collaboration, and will begin announcing the new and expanded programs as information becomes available this year. If you have any questions in the meantime please contact Jack Pengelly, Director of Operations
