Biathlon Alberta implements mandatory PCR-test or full vaccination for all Biathlon Alberta sanctioned events!

By October 8, 2021No Comments

The Biathlon Alberta Board of Directors has updated the COVID-19 specific regulations of the Hosting Policy for the 2021-22 season.
Our main goal is to have safe events during the 2021-22 season. That’s why we will require all participants (that includes athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers) to provide a negative PCR test that is not older than 48hrs at the beginning of the race weekend. Exempt from the PCR test will be all participants that can provide us with an AHS (or applicable health jurisdiction) proof of double vaccination. We are working towards the goal to have our competitions run as normal as possible but we will still see some adjustments at the times before and after the competitions to create a safe environment for everyone.

We have updated Annex I of our Hosting Policy that covers all COVID-19 related rules and regulations for the 2021-22 season. You can find Annex I HERE.

Annex I also includes a lot of information that is more relevant to the event hosts. That’s why we have created a brief summary of the most important participant information in a separate document which you will find below.

We hope that these rules and regulations will allow us to provide an environment at our events at which every participant feels safe and in which our athletes can finally get back to racing! We anticipate that there might be changes to Annex I throughout the season based on the overall COVID-19 situation in Alberta.

We thank you for your support and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
