Top Gun and Junior Top Gun Awards
Biathlon Alberta presents annually the Top Gun and Junior Top Gun Awards to athletes who record the best shooting percentages in Calforex Cup competitions.
Athletes who compete in every competition during the season will have their worst shooting result discarded from their year-end shooting score. If any competition(s) are missed, all results earned will count towards their year-end shooting score. Competitions that are cancelled/postponed due to weather will not count as missed competitions by the athlete. If four or less competitions can be held during the season, then all competitions will count towards an athlete’s shooting score. To be eligible for Top Gun or Junior Top Gun an athlete’s shooting percentage must be at least 70%, and 50% respectively, and the athlete must compete in at least half of the Calforex Cup competitions during the season.
Eligible athletes for the Top Gun Award must shoot in prone and standing positions. The Junior Top Gun Award is awarded to athletes in classes which shoot only in the prone position without the aid of a rifle rest.
